Brain scans reveal if Vitamin-Like nutrient helps menopausal minds

NCT ID NCT06924541

Summary

This study aims to understand if smaller doses of choline, an essential nutrient, can change brain activity patterns in healthy postmenopausal women. Researchers will give 20 women aged 50-65 either a low dose of choline (550mg or 1100mg) or a placebo and then use brain scans (fMRI) to see how their brains work during a memory task. The goal is to see if these lower doses produce similar brain patterns to a higher dose studied previously, which might help explain individual differences in brain function after menopause.
