Scientists probe Cholesterol's hidden role in dementia
NCT ID NCT07207486
Summary
This study aims to understand how cholesterol and its byproducts are involved in diseases like Alzheimer's and frontotemporal dementia. Researchers will analyze brain tissue, spinal fluid, and blood from about 80 people with these conditions and healthy controls. The goal is to see if changes in cholesterol metabolism correlate with disease severity and progression, which could lead to better understanding and future treatments.
