Cholesterol drug combo tested in thousands after statin switch

NCT ID NCT07445542

Summary

This study observed what happens when patients with high cholesterol switch from taking just a statin medication to taking a combination of two cholesterol-lowering drugs (pitavastatin and ezetimibe). It followed nearly 7,000 adults for 24 weeks to see if the combination was more effective at lowering 'bad' cholesterol and if it was safe. The study did not assign treatments but observed patients whose doctors decided to make this switch.
