Cholera vaccine may shield kids from common diarrhea

Summary
This study tests whether an oral cholera vaccine can protect children aged 2 to 14 from infectious diarrhea caused by germs other than cholera. Researchers will give the vaccine or a placebo to 6,000 healthy children and track how many get diarrhea. If effective, this vaccine could help reduce the high rates of diarrhea in young children.
