First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study explores whether using large health databases can help more people at risk for heart disease take cholesterol-lowering statins. Researchers are testing informational tools for patients and doctors in high-risk communities across Ontario. The goal is to see if these tools increase statin use and prevent heart attacks and strokes. About 500,000 people are involved, but no new treatments are being tested.
