First seen Mar 14, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study compares a special balloon (Chocolate PTA) to a standard balloon for preparing narrowed or blocked leg arteries before using a drug-coated balloon. About 242 adults with peripheral artery disease will be randomly assigned to one of the two preparation methods. The goal is to see if the Chocolate balloon reduces the need for emergency stenting and keeps arteries open longer.
