First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a gel called Chlorin E6 that is activated by light to treat diabetic foot ulcers. About 300 adults with diabetes and foot sores that have lasted at least 4 weeks will receive either the gel plus standard care or standard care alone. The goal is to see if the treatment helps wounds heal faster, kills harmful bacteria, and reduces the need for amputation.
