NCT ID NCT07458802

First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study will see if testing and treating pregnant women for chlamydia and gonorrhea can lower the chance of having a baby too early (preterm birth). About 2,000 pregnant women in Botswana will be split into two groups: one gets usual care, the other gets extra STI tests early and late in pregnancy. The goal is to find out if this screening helps prevent preterm birth and is worth the cost.
