Scientists test tiny natural particles to stop stubborn infection films
NCT ID NCT07482553
Summary
This is a laboratory study, not a treatment trial. Researchers are collecting bacteria from patients with urinary tract infections to test if nanoparticles made from a natural substance called chitosan can stop bacteria from forming protective films (biofilms). They will test the nanoparticles alone and with an antibiotic, and see if coating urinary catheters with them can prevent these films from growing.
