Ancient remedies tested against painful cancer treatment side effect

NCT ID NCT07282483

Summary

This study is testing whether traditional Chinese medicine oral liquids and mouthwashes can help reduce painful mouth sores caused by radiation therapy in head and neck cancer patients. Researchers will compare the herbal treatments against a placebo in 118 participants to see if they lower the rate of severe sores and shorten how long milder sores last. The goal is to find better ways to manage this common and painful side effect of cancer treatment.
