Summary
This large research project aims to collect genetic information from 100,000 newborns in China over five years. The goal is to build a national database of newborn genes to understand how common certain inherited diseases are. This information will help create better standards for genetic testing and counseling, which could lead to earlier diagnosis and treatment for babies with genetic conditions.
