Can a single pill shield young hearts from childhood trauma?
NCT ID NCT07244809
Summary
This study aims to understand why stressful childhood events are linked to poorer heart health later in life, even in young, seemingly healthy adults. Researchers will test if a single dose of a special antioxidant supplement can improve blood vessel function and the body's response to stress in 300 young adults who experienced significant adversity as children. The goal is to identify biological mechanisms to inform future treatments that could reduce heart disease risk for millions.
