Can a Parent's hand ease childhood pain from stress?
NCT ID NCT06445712
Summary
This study aimed to understand how difficult experiences in early childhood might make children more sensitive to physical pain and more likely to develop mental health issues. Researchers tested 39 children by having them hold their hand in cold water, once alone and once while holding a parent's hand, to see if parental support changed their pain response. The goal was to gather knowledge that could later help design better support for children who have faced adversity.
