NCT ID NCT07436468
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looked at whether giving extra counseling along with standard childbirth preparation classes helps first-time mothers feel more prepared for pregnancy and birth. 110 pregnant women in Istanbul were split into two groups: one got only the classes, the other got classes plus phone counseling. Researchers measured adaptation using a questionnaire. The goal was to see if the extra support makes a difference.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that adding counseling to standard childbirth classes improves emotional adaptation for first-time mothers.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed study with no phase, so results may not apply broadly. The outcomes are based on self-report scales, not hard medical measures.
