New hope for kids with Tough-to-Treat cancer: drug combo shows promise

NCT ID NCT06341998

Summary

This study tested whether adding the drug sirolimus to a standard chemotherapy combination could help children whose yolk sac tumors have come back or didn't respond to previous treatments. It involved 32 children under 18 who had already tried at least two other platinum-based chemotherapy regimens. The goal was to see if this new combination could better control the disease, potentially leading to a cure or allowing for surgery or radiation.
