Massive study aims to unlock why kids suffer pain long after surgery

Summary
This study aims to understand why some children develop long-lasting pain after common surgeries. Researchers will follow 5,000 children, aged 0-16, for a year after their operations using questionnaires. The goal is to identify risk factors so doctors can better prevent and manage chronic post-surgical pain in the future.
