New drug combo tested in kids fighting aggressive skin cancer

NCT ID NCT00539591

Summary

This study tested a combination of two drugs, temozolomide and peginterferon, to see how well they work in children with high-risk or advanced melanoma. The goal was to see if the treatment could shrink tumors and prevent the cancer from coming back. Children were placed in different treatment groups based on how far their cancer had spread, with some receiving a year of treatment after surgery.
