Scientists search for hidden damage in Kids' hearts and kidneys after diabetes diagnosis
NCT ID NCT07483879
Summary
This study aims to understand if a serious diabetes complication called diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) causes early, hidden damage to children's hearts and kidneys. Researchers will measure specific blood markers and perform heart ultrasounds in 45 children: those newly diagnosed with diabetes and DKA, those with diabetes but no DKA, and healthy children. The goal is to find better ways to spot early organ stress that standard tests might miss.
