Summary
This study tested whether chewing gum could help reduce pain and fear in children getting a blood draw. Researchers compared 144 kids aged 7-12 who chewed sugared gum, sugar-free gum, or had no gum during the procedure. The goal was to find a simple, low-cost way to make medical procedures less scary and more comfortable for children.
