Summary
This study tested whether adding brief chewing exercises before meals could help stroke patients with swallowing difficulties. 120 stroke patients were randomly assigned to either receive standard care or standard care plus 10 minutes of chewing training before each feeding. Researchers measured whether this simple addition improved patients' quality of life, nutritional status, and swallowing safety over 15 days.
