Doctors test simple ultrasound scan to predict Kids' breathing trouble
NCT ID NCT06694285
Summary
This study aims to see if a simple chest ultrasound scan can help doctors predict how serious a child's respiratory infection will be and how long they might need to stay in the hospital. Researchers will observe 300 children and young adults (ages 0-20) who come to the emergency department with infections like pneumonia or bronchiolitis. They will compare ultrasound images with other health measurements to create a scoring system that could help guide treatment decisions.
