Gentle chest squeeze tested to help critical breathing

NCT ID NCT06699017

Summary

This study tested a new idea to help patients with severe Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), a dangerous lung condition. Researchers applied gentle, continuous pressure to the front of the chest to see if it could improve how oxygen moves in the lungs and help the heart work better. They measured these effects in 20 sedated patients to understand if this approach is safe and helpful.
