Exercise app trial aims to unlock Chemo-Brain relief for cancer survivors
NCT ID NCT06725953
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at how a 12-week physical activity program, delivered through smartphone apps and a Fitbit, affects brain function in cancer survivors who report 'chemo-brain' (cognitive problems after chemotherapy). Researchers will compare survivors with and without type 2 diabetes to see if diabetes makes chemo-brain worse. The goal is to understand the underlying causes and whether exercise can help.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
physical activity program delivered via smartphone apps and Fitbit
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that a home-based physical activity program helps improve brain function and reduce inflammation in cancer survivors with chemo-brain, especially those with type 2 diabetes.
What could go wrong
This is a small pilot study with only 38 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The program relies on self-motivation, and some people may not complete it.
