New glucose monitor test aims for healthier pregnancies

NCT ID NCT05430204

Summary

This study tested whether using a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) to screen for gestational diabetes leads to better health results for mothers and their newborns compared to the standard oral glucose test. It involved over 1,600 pregnant women between 24-30 weeks. The goal was to see if the CGM method could reduce complications like large babies, birth injuries, and the need for intensive care.
