First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looked at using continuous glucose monitors (CGM) in intensive care units (ICUs) for patients with high blood sugar or on IV insulin. The goal was to see if CGM could make it easier for nurses to keep blood sugar in a safe range and reduce the need for frequent finger-stick tests. The study involved 201 adults in the ICU, excluding those with COVID-19 or certain severe conditions.
