Blood clot upgrade: could CGF plugs revolutionize tooth extraction recovery?

NCT ID NCT07542795

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether placing a Concentrated Growth Factor (CGF) plug—made from the patient's own blood—into a fresh tooth socket can reduce pain and improve bone healing after a simple extraction. Ten healthy adults aged 20 to 50 will be followed for 3 months. The goal is to see if this simple, natural approach can make recovery smoother and preserve bone for future dental work.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Concentrated Growth Factor (CGF) plug made from the patient's own blood

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a simple way to reduce pain and keep bone healthy after a tooth extraction, which may help with future dental implants.

What could go wrong

This is a very small early study with only 10 people and no comparison group, so results may not apply widely. The CGF plug is made from your own blood, so risks are low but unknown.
