Scientists probe Heart's role in debilitating Post-Exertion crash

NCT ID NCT04740736

Summary

This study aimed to understand how the heart and lungs work in people with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), specifically looking at what causes the severe worsening of symptoms after physical or mental effort, known as post-exertional malaise. Researchers had 106 participants with ME/CFS complete two days of exercise tests to measure their fitness and blood volume. The goal was to gather information to better understand the physical basis of this challenging condition.
