New lung tests could reveal how skipping airway clearance affects CF patients
NCT ID NCT06339593
First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looks at new ways to measure lung changes in people with cystic fibrosis (CF) when they stop and restart their usual airway clearance treatments. Researchers will use special MRI scans with a breathable gas called Xenon and a breathing test called LCI to see how the lungs are working. About 60 people aged 12-21 with CF who take Trikafta will take part. The goal is to learn more about these new tests, not to provide a treatment.
