Hidden health threat? study probes risks for millions carrying CF gene
NCT ID NCT05474417
Summary
This study aims to understand if people who carry one copy of the cystic fibrosis (CF) gene are at higher risk for developing kidney and pancreas problems. Researchers will compare 1,250 CF carriers with non-carriers through a single clinic visit involving surveys, blood tests, and optional at-home sample collection. The goal is to gather knowledge about potential hidden health effects in this large population, not to test a treatment.
