C-Section scar showdown: new staples aim for faster, prettier results

NCT ID NCT07167199

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests if a new type of absorbable staple can close the skin faster and leave a better-looking scar than the usual method after a C-section. About 237 women having a C-section will be randomly assigned to one of the two closure methods. The main goal is to see if the staples shorten surgery time, and a secondary goal is to compare scar appearance using photos taken a few days and weeks after birth.
