Gentler labor start for overdue babies? study tests two methods
NCT ID NCT02907060
Summary
This study compared two methods to help start labor in pregnancies that have gone past 41 weeks. Researchers wanted to see if using a mechanical balloon device was gentler and led to fewer C-sections for suspected fetal distress than using a hormonal pessary. Over 1,200 pregnant women participated in this completed Phase 3 trial.
