3D scan study seeks clues to uncontrollable head twists

NCT ID NCT05327985

Summary

This study aimed to better understand how a specific deep neck muscle contributes to the involuntary head turning seen in cervical dystonia. Researchers used a special 3D CT scan to measure muscle and bone movement in 21 adult patients before and after their standard botulinum toxin treatment. The goal was to gather detailed biomechanical knowledge to potentially improve future targeting of injections for this condition.
