Zapping the brain to untangle neck dystonia: a small study

NCT ID NCT07014384

First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tested whether a gentle, non-invasive brain stimulation technique called tDCS could change brain activity and reduce symptoms in 15 people with cervical dystonia (neck muscle spasms). Participants received real or fake stimulation, and researchers measured brain signals and symptom severity. The goal was to understand how the brain controls movement in this condition, not to provide a treatment.
