Your own cells to stop leaks? new trial tests injection for women
NCT ID NCT03104517
Summary
This study is testing whether injections made from a woman's own muscle cells can reduce accidental urine leaks caused by stress, like from laughing or coughing, in women whose previous surgery for this problem didn't work or the problem came back. It's a Phase 3 trial where 96 women will be randomly assigned to receive either the real cell injection or a placebo injection, and neither they nor their doctors will know which one they get. The main goal is to see if the cell injections safely reduce the number of leak episodes compared to the placebo.
