Scientists test 'Recharged' blood stem cells to fight bone marrow disorder

NCT ID NCT06465160

Summary

This early-stage study is testing the safety of a new cell therapy called MNV-201 for adults with low-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), a bone marrow disorder that causes low blood counts. The therapy involves taking a patient's own blood stem cells, boosting them with mitochondria (the energy centers of cells) from donated placenta tissue, and infusing them back. The main goal is to see if this approach is safe and if it can help improve anemia and reduce the need for blood transfusions.
