Could a single shot ease your back pain? new cell therapy tested
NCT ID NCT03955315
Summary
This early-stage study tested the safety and initial effectiveness of a new cell-based injection (IDCT) for people with chronic low back pain caused by a worn-out spinal disc. 38 participants with long-term pain that didn't improve with standard care received either one of two doses of the cell injection or a sham (placebo) procedure. Researchers tracked participants for a year to see if the treatment reduced pain and disability compared to the sham.
