Summary
This trial tests whether a new filtration-based device that recycles a patient's own blood during heart surgery can reduce bleeding better than the standard centrifugation-based device. The study includes adults undergoing high-risk on-pump cardiac surgery. The goal is to see if preserving platelets along with red blood cells improves clotting and reduces the need for transfusions or repeat surgeries.
