New antibiotic tested in fight against Drug-Resistant e. coli

NCT ID NCT07318584

Summary

This study is testing whether the antibiotic cefotetan works as well as standard antibiotics for hospitalized patients with serious E. coli infections in the blood or urinary tract. About 84 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either cefotetan or standard antibiotic treatment and followed for 30 days. The goal is to see if cefotetan can effectively treat these infections, including some that are resistant to other common antibiotics.
