Race against superbug: new antibiotic strategy tested in 5,000 patients

NCT ID NCT07226557

Summary

This study is comparing two different antibiotic treatment plans for a serious, drug-resistant bacterial infection called CRAB. It will look at data from about 5,000 hospitalized adults to see if a 7-day course of a newer antibiotic (cefiderocol) leads to better survival than 7 days of the current best available therapy. The main goal is to find out which approach helps more patients survive the first 28 days after treatment starts.
