Real-World test: is a common antibiotic just as good for a dangerous infection?

NCT ID NCT07186894

Summary

This study aims to find out if the antibiotic cefazolin works as well and is as safe as the traditional first-choice antibiotics (called antistaphylococcal penicillins) for treating a serious bacterial blood infection (MSSA bacteremia). Researchers will analyze real-world medical records from thousands of patients worldwide to compare death rates and side effects between the two treatments. The goal is to provide clearer evidence to help doctors choose the best antibiotic for their patients.
