First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether cannabidiol (CBD) can reduce self-injury behaviors like biting or head-banging in children aged 5 to 17 with severe neurodevelopmental disorders. About 21 participants will receive CBD for 63 days, and researchers will measure if the frequency of self-injury drops by at least 30%. The goal is to find a safer treatment option for these challenging behaviors.
