CBD tested as potential Game-Changer in fight against opioid addiction

NCT ID NCT06940674

Summary

This study is testing whether cannabidiol (CBD), a non-intoxicating compound from cannabis, can help people with opioid addiction stay off illicit drugs. It will involve 450 adults who are already receiving standard medication treatment (methadone or buprenorphine). Participants will take either CBD or a placebo pill twice daily for 24 weeks to see if CBD reduces drug cravings and relapse.
