Could kids with bone cancer go home sooner? new study aims to find out

NCT ID NCT07560826

First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether children, teens, and young adults with a new type of bone cancer (osteosarcoma) can safely go home from the hospital with slightly higher levels of the chemotherapy drug methotrexate in their blood. About 46 participants aged 22 or younger will receive standard chemotherapy and be monitored for side effects or readmission within a week. Researchers hope this approach could shorten hospital stays without increasing risks, and they will also collect tumor samples to grow lab models for future research.
