Daily scans reveal hidden blood clot danger in hospital IVs
NCT ID NCT06635551
Summary
This study aims to understand when and why blood clots form in the veins around IV lines placed for major surgery. Researchers will use daily bedside ultrasound scans on 100 adult patients from when the IV is placed until it's removed to track clot formation. The goal is to identify risk factors and patterns to help prevent serious complications like lung clots.
