New study tests if a heart procedure can save lives in patients with both AF and heart failure
NCT ID NCT07254455
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looks at 900 adults with atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) and a type of heart failure where the heart's pumping ability is mildly reduced or preserved. It compares a procedure called catheter ablation (which destroys tiny areas of heart tissue causing the irregular rhythm) to standard medical treatment. The goal is to see if the procedure reduces the risk of death, stroke, or hospital stays for worsening heart failure.
