Summary
This study tests a catheter-based procedure to treat people with persistent or long-standing atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heartbeat). The procedure uses energy to isolate parts of the heart and create controlled scars to restore normal rhythm. Researchers will track 50 participants for one year to see if the procedure safely reduces or stops irregular heartbeats without needing long-term medication.
