Heart fix without X-Ray: new study tests safer ablation for AFib

NCT ID NCT06719921

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study compares two ways to perform catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation (AFib), a common heart rhythm problem. One method uses X-ray guidance, while the other uses a non-fluoroscopic lab that avoids radiation. Researchers want to see if the non-fluoroscopic approach is just as safe and effective at stopping AFib for at least 12 months. About 724 adults with AFib who have not had this procedure before will take part across 10 centers.
