First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looked at whether adding casein protein and leucine (a building block of protein) to meals helps people with COPD and healthy older adults build muscle. Weight loss and muscle loss are common in COPD and can make the disease worse. The study involved 36 participants and measured how the body uses protein after different meals. The goal was to learn which combinations of nutrients best support muscle health.
