First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study compares two drugs, carvedilol and propranolol, to see which is better at preventing another bleeding episode in people with liver cirrhosis who have already had variceal bleeding. About 350 adults with cirrhosis will receive endoscopic treatment plus one of the two medications. The goal is to find a safer, more effective way to reduce the high risk of rebleeding and improve survival.
