First seen Feb 16, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested two simple ways to help children aged 6-9 feel less pain and fear when getting an IV: watching cartoons (passive distraction) or playing games (active distraction). Researchers compared the two methods in 64 children to see which worked better. The goal is to find easy, drug-free ways to make needle procedures less scary for kids.
